Superb screenplay brought to the screen impeccably by Curtis Hanson. Clever witty and intelligent this screenplay should without doubt be considered as an imperative read for screenwriters and readers.

Brian Hegaland's screenplay comes off the page, in the most compelling of ways. His characters are rich with a past, present and definate future, which makes it all that more heart breaking when the drama runs a wild run.

If anyone desires to write a screenplay, read this one. It has all the old fashioned trick of trade, yet branished with new one's

Hegaland's wit, and intelligence as a write will indeed inspire you to tackle one yourself. Enjoy!

One wonders - after reading this version of the script - simply this: what in the world did Curtis Hanson bring to the dance that merited a "written by" co-credit with Brian Hegaland?
