I had never read the script, and was glad for the changes made in it's film release. This film hit too close to me, personally. It is the only film I ever had to leave midway through to go cry in the Rest Room. Most viewers will never understand there are people in the world who actually ARE the character Miss Roberts portrayed.
Good news is, I got over it, and have been happily married for 25 years.

After enjoying the movie, it became dawn on me that maybe the beautiful girl were got entangled in the so-called Jonah Complex,descrided by A.H.Maslow. She feared something around marriage and escape from maturity.
